As an international student and depending on your citizenship, you might need to apply for a visa before coming to study at ITECH Lyon and in France. The International Relations Office at ITECH Lyon accompanies each international student with their visa application. Accommodation service
As an international student, finding accommodation and signing a lease can be very complicated if you don’t have a guarantor in France. For this reason, ITECH Lyon offers an accommodation service thanks to the agreement signed between the Lyon Polytechnic Institute and the Crous de Lyon. This agreement enables us to reserve an accommodation in student residences for international students (free mover or exchange programs) enrolling at ITECH Lyon.

Welcome Day
Once you’ve arrived in France, you’ll need to take a number of steps to ensure that you settle in smoothly, such as validating your visa, registering for social security, opening a bank account, applying for housing allowance (APL), and so on. That’s why we organize a welcome day for international students, to help them integrate quickly and effectively in France.
Students Welcome Desk
Every year, ComUE Université and its partners offer the Students Welcome Desk service to international students. Thanks to this service, all international students receive information and support throughout the administrative procedures involved in starting the new academic year. They receive help with their residence permit, as well as support services in Lyon and Roanne.
The ComUE Université de Lyon provides them with a number of tools to help them understand and carry out these administrative formalities:
- A multilingual hotline to advise students and answer all their questions
- A procedure sheet to have all the information at your fingertips
- A reception and support area tailored to the needs of international students
